It's been a great year for Apple as they launched several new flagship devices this year, including their new premium handsets iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the new Macbook, to much acclaimed success. However, it's been noticeably silent on the tablet front, which is currently being dominated by Microsoft's Surface Pro 4, which was why the news of an upcoming iPad Air 3 came as a welcome surprise for most Apple fans and enthusiasts.
However, reports suggested that the iPad Air 3 will be the last Air tablet that Apple will be releasing as the Cupertino giant allegedly mulls over the possibility of killing the Air brand, laptops and all. Given this, what can they expect from the upcoming new Apple tablet? Here's everything you need to know about Apple's iPad Air 3: specifications and features, new upgrades, price details, release dates and more.
Specifications and features
The iPad Air 3 being the possible swan song for Apple's Air line, it's only plausible for Apple enthusiasts to expect better specs for the device. However, Macworld reported that it being a tablet, it isn't very reasonable to expect that specs can go any higher than they currently are.
As far as tablets go, it said, Apple's tablet specs are already at their peak, given the level of performance and duties one would normally ascribe to from a tablet. Besides, Apple also has its Pro line of tablets, which would inevitably cause a headache among Apple's designers as they try to figure out which one to improve specs. So, when should fans expect iPad Air 3?
Release dates
Given this, it's also not unreasonable to think that Apple may have arrived at the dead end for its tablet spectrum--hence, rumors that the iPad Air 3 may be the last of its line. It's expected to launch in March 2017 given Apple's historical launch dates.
