The rumor started when the Samsung Galaxy X was spotted on a Dutch website revealing its Project Valley codename and photos of the smartphone itself. According to the report, the new handset will most likely arrive with an elongated display that carries special kind of hinges that allow the phone to be folded. Although the new leaked photos have become a hot topic online, Samsung has continued to stay silent about its development. However, many fans believe that it is only a matter of time before the company decides to make an official statement.
Earlier this year, several reports have emerged suggesting that the South Korean tech giant is already developing the device. There have been rumors saying that Samsung Galaxy X might arrive later this year; however, all reports have not been confirmed by the company.
Nonetheless, Samsung Galaxy X has been spotted in a U.S. patent website revealing its possible exterior design. In the website, the new Samsung smartphone was specifically described as a foldable phone. "The foldable display apparatus includes a substrate including a metal thin film and an insulating layer provided on the metal thin film, an organic light-emitting unit formed on the substrate and emitting light in a direction away from the substrate, and a thin film encapsulating layer for encapsulating the organic light-emitting unit."
Meanwhile, there are reports saying that Samsung Galaxy X will carry an AMOLED display technology capable of supporting 4 K video.
