It's a great time to be playing games in 2017. There are many game releases that gamers can look forward to in the next year. Another game that has recently announced it launching for all platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam and Nintendo switch is "Lego City Undercover."
The game was first released in 2013 but as a Wii U exclusive. The announcement that was made on Twitter stated, "LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER is looking for new recruits on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch." This also sparked a lot of questions from fans, some of which are inquiring whether it is a new game, or just a re-release of the new one. Lego confirmed that this will be a "re-release" of the game, as well as a "remastered" version for new gaming platforms.
Even though "Lego City Undercover" is not quite as popular as "Lego Batman" or "Star Wars," many fans still consider it a good game as it is designed for all ages. It is a spin-off to the "Grand Theft Auto" series, which gives it a large display of open world and drivable vehicles. Players can chase and are being chased by police cars. It stars Lego cop Chase McCain and because it has a child-friendly melee combat and driving sequence, both young and old can play without worrying about being too violent.
The re-release of "Lego City Undercover" is a chance for the game to reach out to a wider audience. It became a commercial failure and attained an inactive status in the recent years. Per Digital Trends, "Publisher Warner Bros. intends to capitalize on this newfound popularity with a remastered version of Lego City Undercover hitting retail next year. The remastered port of "Lego City Undercover" is currently one of the few games that was officially announced for Nintendo Switch, joining other expected launch-window titles like "Just Dance 2017" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.""
