Next year's iPhone 8 is one special nugget, as it is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the widely popular device. The latest news surrounding the highly anticipated iPhone 8 is that Apple's teaming up with LG Innotek to deliver 3D camera for 3D photography capabilities on the phone.
The latest news comes from NDTV, which reports that rumors are flying about Apple teaming up with LG Innotek to deliver 3D camera for 10th anniversary of the iPhone. The iPhone 8 is anticipated to arrive next year around September, just as the headphone jack-less iPhone 7 was announced just last September.
Currently, the tech giant is apparently deep in its research phase to determine how to apply 3D camera technology into LG Innotek's smartphone camera. The assumed partnership between Apple and LG Innotek may break ground for an advanced 3D photography capability for the 10th anniversary iPhone 8 slated to arrive in 2017.
Now that rumors are abound about Apple teaming up with LG Innotek to deliver 3D photography capabilities to the iPhone 8, users are looking forward to this new feature. Apple is also teaming up with Israeli camera tech startup Linx, which they acquired back in April last year. Linx is the key to allowing apps to use the 3D information captured by camera onto a device.
This may not be the first time Apple teams up with LG Innotek, as an insider reports that the company is not only supplying 3D cameras to the upcoming iPhone 8, but the iPhone 7 as well. According to Indian Express, the upcoming 10th anniversary iPhone 8 will also feature for the very first time, wireless charging.
In addition, the iPhone 8 coming next year as the smartphone celebrates its 10th anniversary, will also feature a bezel-less OLED screen in both 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display. To keep up on the latest iPhone 8 news, updates, and rumors, check back regularly.
