"Game of Thrones" Season 7 will reveal Bran Stark's true purpose and that is to become a seer. Ellie Kendrick, who plays Meera, hinted that Bran becomes the Three-Eyed-Raven.
Ellie Kendrick teased during a recent "Game of Thrones" fan event that Bran Stark becomes a seer. The actress, who plays Bran's guardian Meera, hinted that the youngest Stark sibling will develop psychic capabilities in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Bran will be able to see events that happened in the past and he can now predict the future.
"That's going to be one of the most exciting things in the coming episodes because he can reveal all of the past and the future," Ellie Kendrick said as quoted by Watchers on the Wall.
Looking at the events in Season 6, it is easy to explain how Bran Stark likely becomes the Three-Eyed-Raven in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Meera's brother already predicted this would happen, when he regarded the cripple being the Three-Eyed-Raven.
Likewise, the death of the original Three-Eyed-Raven in Season 6 calls for a replacement. To recap, Season 6 saw the undead army attack the Children of the Forest and the seer at their hiding place inside the cave.
It is likely that the raven, who goes by other names including Bryden Rivers and the withered wizard in the tree, died from the attack. Fortunately, Meera and Bran Stark escaped and their lives spared thanks to Hodor. Hodor blocked the door from the outside so the zombies could not attack. He sacrificed his life to save Meera and Bran.
Meanwhile, Meera and Bran escaped into the forest. Benjen Stark arrived just in time before the White Walkers caught up to them. He let Bran and Meera escape on his horse so they could travel North of the Wall.
Bran Stark lives because he has a far greater purpose in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. According to previous spoilers, he will reveal Jon Snow's true parentage; he is the son of Lyanna Stark and Prince Rhaegar. Bran will also help Sansa realize that Little Finger cannot be trusted.
