Much to the excitement of the fans, there's no stopping Mary Stuart's supremacy, as "Reign" Season 4 will be coming back in January 2017. A lot of speculations claim that Adelaide Kane will be leaving the series to take on new roles, however, new reports are asserting that the production team is to make a sequel for the series. Now, it is said that Rachel Skarsten will not be renewed for season 5.
According to Gamenguide, Adelaide Kane has turned down her "Reign" season 5 renewal contract for another role. However, rumors are rife that Adelaide Kane and the production team have been able to negotiate on the development of series for Season 5, in which it will concentrate on the reign of Mary in Scotland. Mary's role in France was just a glimpse of what is actually waiting for her when she goes back to Scotland. "Reign" Season 4 is said to be only a beginning of Mary's regime.
According to reports, Rachel Skarsten is said to be ending her contract, after the production team decided to shift the story back to Mary's favor. Following the historical background, it was Elizabeth who beheaded Mary, however, "Reign" Season 4 will feature Mary winning against Elizabeth.

According to the production team, "Reign" Season 4 will not necessarily deviate from the historical facts, however, "Reign" Season 5 will not only focus on Mary and Elizabeth rivalry, but another enemy will bring havoc to Scotland.
Moreover, the production team has not really divulged on how Elizabeth will exit the series, but fans are granted that it will be bloody and heartless. "Reign" Season 4 will feature the madness of both monarchs to secure their crowns. On Mary's end, she will marry anyone who can help her protect her crown, but also to remove anyone on her path for those against her.
There are no statements yet released by the showrunners, however, fans will have to wait until the series arrives in the small screens.
