The Irish Times reported that these Sony MDR-1000X is worth the money you pay for them since it costs 430 euro, $400 or AU$700. They also said that these headphones aren't the budget option but they certainly tick all the right boxes when it comes to portable audio. Even streaming audio tracks sound good on these, and video tracks work just as well making these a good all-round set of headphones.

Additionally, CNET also reported that the Sony MDR-1000X has a good battery life and some nifty extra features geared toward frequent travelers. Bose is considered the gold standard but Sony have been on mission to beat Bose and the result of their efforts is the MDR-1000X, the most technologically advanced headphone.
Another cool feature is the ability to muffle your music. You can also choose alternate settings that allow more ambient noise to seep in or even filter out everything but voices. So even if you are in airports, you can hear their announcements while listening to music.
