KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted that there will be three versions of the Apple iPhone 8 that will launch in 2017, as well as an iPhone 7s. Apparently, Apple will not skip the upgraded version of the Apple iPhone 7.
Apple Insider wrote that according to Kuo, the iPhone 7s will be a midrange or low-end smartphone, with a 4.7-inch display. If the rumored Apple iPhone 7s arrives for the midrange market, Kuo expects it to account for 30 to 35 percent of new iPhone shipments in fiscal year 2017.
Most of the sales next year will be brought in by the iPhone 8, which accounts for about 50 to 55 percent of new-model shipments. Overall, Kuo predicts that Apple will have a better year in 2017, with shipments of about 90 to 110 million.
The 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 7s may be the lowest variant available among iPhones in 2017. It may feature an LCD display without a dual-camera setup. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 may arrive with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) on both rear cameras, as well as a redesigned telephoto lens.
Forbes reported that the company will most likely maintain the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus names, with the latter having a 5.5-inch LCD screen with an all-glass casing. Both The Apple iPhone 7s and 7s Plus units will expectedly run on the A11 chipset and feature wireless charging at faster speeds.
The improvement in charging time may be due to the all-glass case, since metal casings were shown to slow down the technology. The LCD screen of the iPhone 7s is expected to be better than its predecessor.
In the meantime, fans are excited about the OLED screen that the iPhone 8 will showcase a 5.8-inch curved OLED display with dual-camera. The next flagship model will reportedly include a 5.1 to 5.2-inch active touchscreen area and bezel-free design.
The iPhone 8 may cost around $800 when it launches. The iPhone 7s, intended to be a low-end or midrange offering, may only cost half or more. The Apple iPhone 7s is expected to release in the first half of 2017. More updates and details are expected soon.
