A recent report says that game retailer GameStop had a decline in sales because of the underperformance of "Call Of Duty: Inifinite Warfare." However, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" sales continue to soar high.
It appears that "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is the weakest link, while "Pokemon Sun and Moon" games are the strongest ones when it comes to sales. In the latest GameStop sales report, based on comments made by management, it reveals that "Pokemon Sun and Moon" are the best-performing games for GameStop in 2016 as the pre-orders for this game were the highest for any game at GameStop.
Meanwhile, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" appears it underperformed in the sales. Meanwhile, PS4 Pro shows a "strong" start and PSVR units are selling well (the units only stays in the shelves for an average of 10 days).
"Pokemon Sun and Moon" games sales also perform well in Japan. Since it was released in the country, it has managed to sell nearly 2 million copies, according to Forbes.
In the first three days of launching "Pokemon Sun and Moon", the game garnered a total of 1,905,107 sales. Although it did not surpass "Pokémon X and Y" sales back in 2013, which managed 2,096,000 sales over a similar three-day period, it still appears that "Pokemon Sun and Moon" games sold highest in 2016.
Back to GameStop, the store's total global earnings is $1.96 billion. This decreased 2.8 percent year-over-year. In the preliminary sales announcement, GameStop said games released in the "last few weeks of October" underperformed. Aside from that, new software sales have been dropped by 8.6 percent.
The store did not mention which games did not perform well. In some previous reports, games that have been released in October are the following: "Gears of War 4", "Battlefield 1", "Civilization VI", "Titanfall 2" and "Skyrim Special Edition".
