The PlayStation 4 is finally a reality now and the best part of it is the fact that we now have a clear picture as to how the console actually looks like. And, truthfully, we love the way Sony has planned out the console, and it seems like Sony will always continue to make its devices as sleek as possible.
The most basic thing that we got to notice about the PlayStation 4 is the fact that the final model doesn’t really deviate from what we have been seeing all over the Web in the recent past. While all is not same, most of it looks like the ones we saw in the images when they were doing rounds on the Internet.
The console looks ever better with a blue neon light running vertically down across the length of the console, and its cool compact look. The PS4 is basically divided into two layers, with the space in between where the disc tray was supposed to be placed.
Importantly, for Sony’s sake, compared to the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 looks much more compact and sleek, and that’s definitely a point gain for Sony in its battle for market domination against the Xbox One.
For the sake of a general comparison, the PS4 is less boxy than that of the Xbox One and is outright impressive and a hint toward the fact that Sony wants this console to do big things, far bigger than all the PlayStation consoles together that have been released in the recent past.
Even though Sony is providing the extra added horsepower alongside its console (which is more than what Xbox One is delivering), the company, impressively, hasn’t let go of its ambition of creating a console that’s not only powerful, but also good to the eye.
If noticed properly, both Microsoft and Sony follow a very similar design pattern and that has been showcased with the previous generation gaming consoles from both the companies. However, this time around, Sony came over the odds via a huge margin with the Xbox One’s design falling flat in front of the PS4.
It now seems like the wait for the console since February (when it was actually expected to arrive at the PS4 event) is worth the wait. Take a bow, Sony.
