Serious Sam is the long running first-person shooter series by developer Croteam. The series started out as a PC shooter in 2001. Over the last 12 years the series has released 12 games on Xbox, GameCube, Palm OS, Game Boy Advance and PlayStation 2.
Now fans of the series can buy a special bundle pack of the series on Humble Bundle. For this week only, gamers can buy a package of six games in the series for whatever they want.
The pay want you want offer includes Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, Serious Sam: Double D, Serious Sam: Kamikazi Attack and Serious Sam: Public Test 2.
Those who spend over the average donation will also receive Serious Sam 3: BFE and Serious Sam 2. The current average for the package is $4.27. All games available for purchase can be played on PC. Some titles are also available for Mac, Linux and Android. They are all available DRM-free and on Steam.
The package is available for purchase until June 13. So far, the highest bid for the game has been $200. While the lowest bid offered is just $1.
Proceeds for the package will help fund Serious Sam 4. Funds will also go to help support charities the Child's Play Charity or the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
Croteam does not share many details about Serious Sam 4. The developer only teases the game with an early art design for the game and a 'coming in 2014' tease. Serious Sam 4 will continue the story of Sam 'Serious' Stone as he fights off alien overlord Mental.
The Serious Sam developer has been keeping busy in recent months. Along with their work on Serious Sam 4, the studio also just released Serious Sam 3: BFE for Xbox Live Arcade.
The game was made available for purchase in the Xbox Live Arcade last October. Croteam charged 1200 Microsoft Points for the title at launch. However, the game is currently going for 800 Microsoft Points.
