Players are no doubt excited about the upcoming "Total War: Warhammer" DLC release date which will arrive this December. Lately, developer Creative Assembly release some notes on the coming "Realm of the Wood Elves" DLC which upgrades the Elves into a full playable race complete with their own campaign.
Coming 'Total War: Warhammer' DLC Offers Extensive Options & Choices
When the new "Total War: Warhammer" DLC arrives this December, players will have a lot of decision-making to make. As hinted at by the recently released notes on the "Realm of the Wood Elves" DLC, the gameplay will provide players with numerous exciting specialization options.
The Elven race has a well-defined hierarchy, with a number of positions available in their Council that players need to fill up for the added bonuses they provide. As such, the first thing choice gamers have to make with the arrival of the "Total War: Warhammer" DLC is which Legendary Lord to choose. There are two options open for players; they can recruit Orion the King in The Wood which opens up the Elven Council or choose the Leader of Argwylon, the ancient Treeman Durthu, which unlocks the treefolks version of the Elven Council named the Gathering of the Ancients.
Initial Positions In The Elven Council
Players will initially have three positions to fill up when they choose Orion as their Legendary Lord in the coming "Total War: Warhammer" DLC; The King in The Wood, Elder Speaker and Protector of The Oak. Actually, only two are vacant because The King in The Wood will belong to Orion by default granting him an income boost from sacking settlements.
The upcoming "Total War: Warhammer" DLC will require a level 10 Lord to fill the position of the Protector of The Oak, which lessens the success rates of enemy heroes and grants the Lord cheaper recruitment cost for Treemen units. On the other hand, a level 15 Lord or higher is required for the Elder Speaker position, which grants him increased aura size, trade boost for the entire race and more experience for his army.
Other Positions That Requires Specific Buildings
The "Total War: Warhammer" Realm Of The Wood Elves DLC will also introduce four additional positions in the Elven Council but these require the construction of specific buildings to become available. These positions include the Trickster's Masque which requires building the Wardancer Feast Halls, Starlight Craftsman which opens up with the Starlight Forge, Warden of The Wildwood comes with The Wildwood Waystones and Herald of The Hunt that becomes available with building the Wild Heath.
According to the "Total War: Warhammer" DLC notes, the Herald of The Hunt is a particularly useful position to activate. The Lord that becomes the Herald of The Hunt enjoys reduced recruitment and upkeep costs of the Wild Riders and a substantial twenty percent increase in movement range for his army. In the periodic event called Wild Hunt, the Herald will get tons of cash bonus when razing settlements, increased morale for his army and additional damage bonus.
The "Total War: Warhammer" Realm of the Wood Elves DLC release date is slated this coming December 8, 2016. Be sure to follow GamenGuide for updates on the details of the Treemen version of the Elven Council known as The Gathering of the Ancients, which developer Creative Assembly promised to be revealed before the "Total War: Warhammer" DLC release date arrives.
