Blizzard Is Looking For Two Lead Software Engineers To Work On a 'First Person Engine'? Symmetra's Major Changes Announced

In a job posting, it shows that Blizzard Entertainment is looking for two lead software engineers. The hired candidates will be the ones to work on "a robust first-person engine for an unannounced project."

The news that suggests job opening in Blizzard may not be a big deal to some. However, many would get interested for an unannounced project in a first-person engine.

As of now, "Overwatch" is the only game in first-person engine that developed by Blizzard, according to PC Gamer. Its engine has been built internally.

This news made the publication concluded that the company will working on another first-person game distinct from "Overwatch" or it could be for a major expansion or, perhaps (gasp), a campaign component for that game.

Speaking of "Overwatch," Blizzard announces big changes to the hero named Symmetra, Mashable reports. A video released on Tuesday, Nov. 22, "Overwatch" game director Jeff Kaplan explained what would be the different changes coming to support-hero Symmetra. The changes will be available to try on the public test region "very soon."

"The problem we were seeing with Symmetra ... was that she was a very effective character but she was viewed as overly situational," Kaplan said in the video.

The company will also be adding a new "Stay With Group" feature. It allows players to stay with their teams after a match ends. The new feature will benefit strangers and other players who want to play together again.

What changes to expect to Symmetra?

The major change is her ability, which is the ultimate. This character is the first and only hero in "Overwatch" to have two different ultimates. Just like other heroes, players need to build ultimate for her so she could also use her Teleporter. But now, by pressing the ultimate button again, players can drop a Shield Generator instead.

The Shield Generator is very useful for other the whole team because it can also shield the whole group while within a certain radius, ignoring any line-of-sight issues. Symmetra's shield provided by generator can recharge just like standard shields in "Overwatch".
