Iphone 'Touch Disease' Updates: Customers Not Happy With Apple's Solution? Fix To Freezing iPhone Screen Comes With A Price

After months of customer complaints and multiple class action suit proposals, Apple has finally offered to fix the notorious "touch disease" for its iPhone 6 plus models. The problem causes the phone's screen to freeze up and lose touch response.

Customers, however, are not pleased with the service. For one, the company would charge a repair fee of $149 in the U.S. and $189 in Canada to address the phone's unresponsive screen.

Apple Website Claims That 'Touch Disease Arises From Multiple Drops'

Consumers are not happy with Apple's solution for the dreaded "touch disease,", writes CBC News. Apple user Trina Rae Wiegers thinks that Apple's explanation to the unresponsive screen is just "pitiful." In a post from Apple's official website, the tech giant explained that the reason for the "touch disease" arises from multiple drops and contact from hard surfaces. The company added that further stress aggravates the issue.

Owners of the iPhone 6 Plus do not believe Apple's explanation to the phone's malfunctioning screen. Multiple users have reported that the problem manifests even if their phones were not dropped or put to stress. Owners of the iPhone 6 have also reported the same problem on their phones and may not get the repairs, as Apple announced that they will only be servicing iPhone 6 Plus units.

Iphone 'Touch Disease': Apple Will Offer Reimbursement For Previous Service Repairs

Indian Express reports that owners of the phone may be reimbursed for service repairs that are related to the issue but were not directly notified by Apple. The tech company will offer reimbursement equivalent to the original service cost deducted to the newly announced $149 "touch disease" fix. Owners are advised to contact Apple and process their reimbursement.

The global affliction to iPhone 6 and 6 plus has been reported several times and Apple will not fix iPhone 6 Plus units that are not working and has a cracked screen. Owners are advised to back up their data and go to the nearest Apple Service Center. Apple has declined to comment on the comments and only responded that they are currently running a repair program for the iPhone 6 Plus.
