Creative Assembly has been relentless in dishing new "Total War: Warhammer" DLC updates lately. Just weeks after its announcement of a coming February 2017 update upgrading the faction Bretonnia to full playable race, the developer did it again. This time, however, the upcoming Realm of the Wood Elves DLC has a closer release date, already scheduled to happen next month.
'Total War: Warhammer' DLC: Realm Of The Wood Elves Coming Next Month
When the new "Total War: Warhammer" Realm of the Wood Elves DLC release date arrives next month, it will finally upgrade the Wood Elves to a new playable race, reports Eurogamer. Aside from that, the new DLC will likewise introduce a new mini-campaign to the game called The Season of Revelation.
'Total War: Warhammer' DLC To Introduce New Legendary Lords, Units
As with other "Total War: Warhammer" DLC in the past, the upcoming Realm of the Wood Elves will likewise introduce new Legendary Lords as well as new units for the race. Apparently, choosing the right Legendary Lord is important as it will affect the gameplay, different Lords unlocks different types of Wood Elves units available at the start of the game.
For instance, if players select Orion as their Legendary Lord, all elven units may be recruited as Orion is a wood elf. However, if players decided to use the Legendary Lord Durthu, said to be the world's oldest tree, all treefolk units are unlocked instead. But there is still a way to unlock the other units in the coming 'Total War: Warhammer" DLC.
Realm of The Wood Elves DLC Offers Different 'Total War: Warhammer' Gameplay
"Total War: Warhammer" Realm of the Wood Elves DLC introduces a new resource to the game which is used exclusively by the wood elves. The Wood Elves earns an amber, the new resource, every time the race captures a region.
The amber will be an important resource for Wood Elves when the "Total War: Warhammer" DLC release date arrives as it may be used to unlock other units. In addition, it may also be used to fulfill a certain victory condition, to grow the Oak of Ages. Unfortunately, the magical tree requires a lot of ambers to grow and it is left to the player to decide whether to use the resource on unit improvements or growing the tree.
Players will be presented with a new challenge with the arrival of the "Total War: Warhammer" DLC release date next month. The Wood Elves forces pack quite a punch, with the ability to adjust firing ranges, options to equip with poison damage or multiple targets. However, the units are not as durable as other races as they are said to be the typical glass cannon build.

The good news is that the Realm of the Wood Elves DLC will come sooner than the previously announced Bretonnia pack. The Wood Elf-themed "Total War: Warhammer" DLC release date is already slated this coming December 8, 2016.
