Now, new reports are claiming that the two main casts are no longer part of the series as it rumored that the movie has been cancelled. Instead, the original movie project will be developed into a TV series
It was previously reported by Gamenguide that Shailene and co-star Theo are not in good terms since the actor rejected to reprise his role for the Divergent: Ascendant Movie. It is said that he is going to prioritize his wedding with fiancée, Ruth Kearney. Furthermore, Theo wants to distance himself with "Divergent Series" co-star, Shailene to silence the on-going rumor that they are secretly dating.
According to reports, the production team has announced that the pair will no longer be part of the "Divergent: Ascendant" project. Insiders have divulged that new casts are being selected, which would fit the roles of Tris Prior and Four Eaton. The couple has been widely popular among the fans, and replacing them would surely disappoint millions of followers.

Chat Sport Net reported that the star was not very happy with the production's decision, and expressed that she did not sign up for a TV series, but for a movie project. Co-star Miles Teller has also air out his frustration.
Rumors are rife that Shailene has convinced Veronica Roth to side with her, which triggered the author to reject being part of the TV series production. With all these reports, it is speculated that "Divergent: Ascendant" may be on its way to hit the small screen.
