Avid "Star Wars Battlefront" fans can expect to meet new game characters, as well as experience a new game mode in the upcoming DLC titled "Rogue One: Scarif." Apart from the new in-game content, the gaming company also prepared several treats to celebrate the game's first year anniversary.
Electronic Arts marked the first year anniversary of "Star Wars Battlefront" by unveiling the game's upcoming "Rogue One: Scarif" DLC and other gaming details. Game developers included two new playable characters in the upcoming DLC namely Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic, according to an announcement posted on the game's official website.
"Rogue One: Scarif" will also come with four new maps for players to explore. One of these include the Scarif beach location that was previewed in the teaser clip for the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" film. Gamers will also have the chance to explore a new "tropical planet crawling with Imperials."
"Star Wars Battlefront" will also get a new multi-stage game mode included in the upcoming DLC. With various levels that range from space combat and ground missions, the new game mode will provide gamers with a new challenge.
Meanwhile, Electronic Arts has prepared a special anniversary treat for "Star Wars Battlefront" fans. The gaming company has unlocked the maps and game modes from its previous expansion packs namely "Outer Rim," "Bespin" and "Death Star." Available until Nov. 20, gamers can play the said expansion packs for free, as well as gain quadruple scores from now until the said date.
In other news, players can expect to see a sequel to the "Star Wars Battlefront" game in the coming year. Electronic Arts' Blake Jorgensen stated during an investor call held in early November that game developers are already hard at work to deliver an "extremely deep and engaging offering," Polygon reported. The gaming company's chief financial officer also teased that they are planning an annual release of a "Star Wars" gaming title in the coming three to four years.
"Star Wars Battlefront's" new DLC "Rogue One: Scarif" will be available for Season Pass holders on Dec. 6 and Dec. 20 for gamers without a Season Pass. Learn more about the game and its Ultimate Edition in the clip below:
