Pangu is one of the most popular hacking groups in terms of jailbreaking Apple devices. However, the group fell silent with the release of iOS 10, with no concrete updates released since September. Meanwhile, hacker Luca Todesco had also revealed that he will release a jailbreak tool for iOS 10.1.1.
According to a report from Vine Report, Todesco had announced on Twitter that he has already successfully jailbroken the iOS 10.1. He posted the tweet with a photo of his phone that shows proof of his jailbreaking.
With this revelation, many of his fans and followers have urged Todesco to collaborate with Pangu in releasing a tool to hack the seemingly impenetrable iOS 10. However, there is still no confirmation yet on whether Todesco will be working with Pangu.
However, some reports have stated that it is very unlikely that Todesco will reach out to the well-known hacking group. This is after several accounts of him already breaking through the security measures of earlier iOS 10 versions, but did not offer help to Pangu.
With Todesco's tweet, however, it has been proven that Apple's security with the iOS 10 is still susceptible to hacking. Pangu is then expected to release their own jailbreak tool sometime in 2017.
Other than Todesco, there have been other groups that have claimed to create a successful jailbreak tool. However, these claims should be taken with a grain of salt, as some of them are not legitimate. There are also reports saying that Pangu could be the group closest to releasing an actual jailbreak device for iOS 10, as they have already demonstrated one earlier.
If Pangu or any other hacking entities are going to release a jailbreak tool though, they need to work as quickly as possible. With the looming release of the iOS 10.2, Apple might just one up the jailbreakers again and the waiting game for a proper hacking tool once again resets.
