One in ur lifetime, we contemplate on travelling around the world, what's it like and just how fulfilling the experience can be. Of course, the idea is crazy given several reasons why it's not that easy to pack your things and travel the world. But now, HTC Vive and Google Earth VR has collaborated in order to bring you that experience right at the palm of your hands.
The latest news according to the Mirror is that, Google Earth apparently found a way to create a virtual reality (VR) version of the planet earth and it will be exclusively featured on the HTC Vive platform. While it will feature the normal Google Earth or Google Street View programs, the new Google Earth VR experience will arrive in 3D form.
The new HTC Vive - Google Earth VR partnership is also expected to give justice on the topographical regions of Venice, Monument Valley in Arizona and Rio where sceneries are best preserved in the regions. In a blog post by Google, also featured on the Mirror, it said "Now, at 196.9 million square miles, we know the world is pretty big, so we've made it easy to find great places to visit."
The Google Earth VR, alongside the HTC Vive has handpicked the best places to explore the earth and regions included were Grand Canyon, Amazon River, Swiss Alps and the Manhattan Skyline. While it seem the perfect idea on how you can tour the world without leaving your home, the reality of the game also showed the subtle downside of doing this on VR.
Some users claim, they experience a headache after few minutes of exploration, but of course, the same situation happens to the Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR.
