‘Defenders Of The Triforce’ Tour Date, News & Update: Nintendo’s ‘Legend Of Zelda’ Turns To An Escape Room Game

The iconic gaming franchise "Legend of Zelda" will be used as a theme for an escape room puzzle game called, "Defenders of the Triforce." Nintendo collaborates with the company Scrap and it will go on tour starting January 2017.

Nintendo announced that the project is in partnership with an escape-room company called Scrap. The project "Defenders of the Triforce" will focus on the game franchise "Legend of Zelda." Nintendo brags that this collaboration is not the typical average escape room project, which made fans excited.

According to The Verge, "Defenders of the Triforce" is a real-world game built by the partnership of Nintendo and escape room design studio Scrap. The anticipated escape room will feature familiar items and characters from "Legend of Zelda" to solve a puzzle and progress.

The "Defenders of the Triforce" escape room is not as scary liek the other escape room games. Scrap said that the participants will work with teams of six in order to solve a mystery in a huge area, all within a time limit. Players need to solve puzzles using the discovered items and move forward into other areas similar to "The Legend of Zelda," GameSpot reported.

In a statement, Nintendo marketing executive Doug Bowser said that the "Defenders of the Triforce" is an effort by Nintendo to offer new experiences for all their fans. The real-life adventure of the escape room will be touring to eight cities in the United States starting January 2017.

"Defenders of the Triforce" escape room tour includes San Francisco, from January 31 to February 5, Los Angeles from February 10 to 12, and in San Diego February 24 to 25. Also, the tour will visit Seattle, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, and New York, but there are no specific dates yet. Tickets will be priced at $36 for early birds at some cities.

Aside from "Defenders of the Triforce," Nintendo plans to release its new game franchise "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" next year. The game is being developed in Japan by Eiji Aonuma, which will be released on both Wii U and NX.
