When Conor McGregor won the UFC Lightweight Championship and became the first two-division champion, he was immediately asking where is the second championship belt and with nothing to give, Reed Harris (UFC Vice President of Athlete Development) had to ask permission from Tyson Woodley to borrow his instead.
"I was a little frustrated that at that current moment that they needed it, because I needed to take my pictures - you know the pictures they take behind the stage if you win?" Tyson Woodley said via MMA Weekly.
Tyson Woodley, who just came from a 5-round heart-pounding battle against Shephen Thompson that ended in a majority draw, knew the need why he had to let Conor McGregor borrow his Championship belt.
"I wasn't able to do those pictures because they wanted me to take it without the belt. And it would be a cold day in hell before I'd take any other picture without the belt or come out of the blue corner again. I didn't get a chance to take those pictures because that moment was going on."
Tyson Woodley's efforts were applauded for his kindness. "They told me how great of an individual I was that I would be willing to do something like that."
With an earlier spat with Conor McGregor on backstage, Tyson Woodley has been in the rumors as the next target for the 'Notorious'. Even with all the trash-talking, Tyson Woodley expressed that there was nothing going on there and he just let Conor McGregor be himself.
"I know everybody wants to beef on Conor. There's no beef," Tyson Woodley clarified. "If you do something, especially in this day and age where you build up this image, you have to be okay with the fact that it might be recorded, and it might be put out."
