Fans of the J.K. Rowling book are making an online petition to push Niantic in developing "Harry Potter Go" for a mobile app with the game having a strong resemblance with Niantic's successful augmented reality game, "Pokemon Go." With a huge number of "Harry Potter" fans signing the online petition, will Niantic answer the fans pled with the company developing "Harry Potter Go" in the future?
'Harry Potter Go' In The Works?
One of the senior developer over Niantic stated that the company has rights to do "Harry Potter Go" and the company is trying really hard to have an official announcement in 2017. The senior developer added that further details about "Harry Potter Go" can't be said as of now, including its release date.
According to reports, fans wanted "Harry Potter Go" so badly that some have taken the time to make an online petition to get Warner Bros.' attention and support the game's release. One petitioner has been successful in raising the attention of many fans, which the petition having 95 percent of goal supporters.
Ashtyn Hannon has collected over 61,000 supporters in the fan's online petition with the fan stating there should be no other reason why "Harry Potter Go" would not be developed by Niantic as it can be a win-win situation for Niantic, Warner Bros. and the fans.
It was previously reported that "Harry Potter Go" was being developed by Niantic, but there has been no official clarification of any matter regarding the development. As of now, "Harry Potter" fanatics have been expecting the official word from Niantic about the "Harry Potter Go" development.
