Samsung Galaxy S8 is slated to be released with two variants in 2017. Recent reports claim that Samsung may announce the Galaxy S8 in April and not in Mobile World Congress. Furthermore, the device is also rumored to roll out with a 3D Touch Feature.
It should be noted that the Galaxy Note 7 was not as successful this year with several battery issues. However, tipster Evan Blass reportedly went to Twitter to reveal the model numbers for the company's upcoming flagships for 2017. Samsung will reportedly skip the SM-G94 model in lieu of the SM-G950 for the Samsung Galaxy S8, Indian Express reported.
Previously, the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge have been launched with SM-G920 and G925 model numbers respectively. In addition, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge bear the SM-G930 and SM-G935 model numbers respectively. Hence, chronologically, the Samsung Galaxy S8 was supposed to bear the SM-G940 model number.
Furthermore, leaked reports from the Korean media reportedly revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will roll out in 5.7 and 6.2 inch display variants. The latter is said to feature a bezel-less design sans the home button. Samsung is also said to stick with the curved screen for the Galaxy S8.
Meanwhile, Samsung is also expected to add a pressure-sensitive display to the Samsung Galaxy S8. Hence, the device may come with Force Touch as seen on the Apple Watch. The feature is also said to be similar to the 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7, Slashgear reported.
The Samsung Galaxy S8, however is expected to face lawsuits if the 3D Touch feature persists on the phone. It should be noted that several smartphone manufacturers like Huawei created the OEM with a pressure sensitive display from Samsung. On that note, where Apple once ignored other manufacturers who use the feature, Samsung may be an exception. Watch: Samsung Galaxy S8 : Game Changer! Rumors, Leaks, Specs
