After the latest update to version 0.16.0 last October, Mojang officially announced the Ender Update of Minecraft Pocket Edition. The Ender Update,or version 1.0., is now finally coming to the mobile game version.
This major update of the Minecraft Pocket Edition, together with the Windows 10 Edition 1.0 is very exciting, especially to the mobile players. This update has no official release date, but rumors state that it might be released in the first quarter of 2017.
Minecraft Pocket Edition never had the full feature set of the game's PC Edition and Console Editions. The Pocket Edition is also very late when it comes to the updated features. The PC edition is currently the most updated version of the game. It has all the items, mods, maps, tools and block that the game has, unlike the console edition that has no Elytra. The pocket edition has no "The End" map that the PC edition currently enjoys.
As of now, the Minecraft Pocket Edition, in its latest version 0.16.0, is still an open infinite world of adventure, no goal and no final destination. However, the 1.0 update brings the The End map to the game. The End is the dimension or map in the game where you will find the Ender Dragon, the ultimate boss of the Minecraft game.
Actually, beating the Ender Dragon in the Minecraft Pocket Edition survival mode does not mean the end of the game, it is rather called the player's ultimate goal. You can still continue your progress in the same in-game-world after beating the Ender Dragon.
Another new feature in the Minecraft Pocket Edition update is the Elytra, a wing like item that allows the players to glide in the air. This Item can be found in the End Cities, a map included in The End dimension. Elytra is not available in any latest console editions so this is the first time that the pocket edition has something that the console editions doesn't have.
This Ender Update will be fully released to the Minecraft Pocket Edition. Mojang promised that they will still continue the updates after version 1.0. New maps, items, mods, tools, blocks, and even a new Boss could still be added into the game in the future updates.
