Jeremy Lin has been grounded for now due to injury but the American-Asian is certainly up to date with the things going on in the world. That includes the recent triumph of Donald Trump which has so far gotten divided takes.
Lin is likely aware of all that though he may be more concerned about what Trump can do about discrimination. The 28-year-old has been known to take a stand against it but has been mature handling it. Rather than bicker, Lin is hoping for the best and dishes that real change starts with unification, reconciliation, and compassion, the New York Post reported.
Obviously, accepting Trump has become a problem for most. Many were surprised at the results though many may have been looking at something else. The next president will obviously have a lot of ground to cover and racial issues are expected to be one of the major ones he will need to tackle, The Telegraph reported.
As for Lin, there are more important things to address right now. That includes recovering from his left hamstring injury, which will keep him out for some time. That said, the Brooklyn Nets need to make key adjustments which may eventually put Keith Atkinson’s genius to the test.
Picking up the slack for Lin right now may fall on Sean Kilpatrick, rookie Isaiah Whitehead or even the returning Randy Foye, Bleacher Report reported. It seems like an odd mix to fill up the void left by Lin but at this point, the Nets don’t really have much of a choice. They currently tote a 3-5 win-loss card.
The good news is that the 2016-17 NBA season is still in its infancy stages, meaning Lin can still return and make a difference. The preseason experiments should do for now as ‘Linsanity’ takes a short breather to strengthen up that injured hamstring.
