Final Fantasy XIII-2 Re-Release Will Offer DLC Collections, Hit Labels

Square Enix says the company will be re-releasing Final Fantasy XIII – known as Final Fantasy XIII-2 – in Japan. The game will arrive as both a standalone game, under the Ultimate Hits label, and also as a Digital Contents Selection package that includes the game, as well as all the DLCs released for it.

The final bundle will feature the Snow, Lightning, and Sazh episodes, as well as three weapons, seven costumes, and six Colosseum opponents. The Colosseum opponents include Omega, Lightning and Lieutenant Amodar, Jihl Nabaat, Ultros and Typhon, Gilgamesh, and PuPu.

The bundle will offer DLC packages like Sazh: Heads or Tails, Snow: Perpetual Battlefield and Lightning: Requiem of the Goddess, alongside The Lost Report which re-tells the story from the perspective of Rygdea and Yaag Rosch, two PSICOM operatives.

The weapons, as Gematsu reports, include Serah’s Genji Bow, and Noel’s Muramasa and Catastrophe Blade. There are a lot of costumes to choose from as well with Serah’s White Mage, Summoner’s Garb and Beachwear, Noel’s Battle Attire, Spacetime Guardian and Black Mage, and A Wondrous Wardrobe that belogs to Mog.

However, crossover items like Noel’s Assassin’s Creed costume, the Mass Effect N7 armor, and AKB48 member Yuko Oshima’s Style and Steel costume are not part of the package.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Digital Contents Selection is currently set for a release on July 18 for 5,040 yen ($50), while the Ultimate Hits version will retail for 2,940 yen ($29).

A digital release for FFXIII-2 will also be available as a download for 2,940 yen/2,000 Microsoft Points on July 16 for PSN and Xbox Live Arcade, alongside the DLC for 2,100 yen/1,360 Microsoft Points.

Nothing has been planned for North America, as of yet.
