League of Legends Latest News and Updates: 2016 Ranked Season Ends, What Awaits Players in the 2017 Season?

The League of Legends 2016 ranked season has finally wrapped up on November 7 and when something ends, something definitely begins.

Riot Games said that rewards earned by the players will be distributed two weeks after the last day of League of Legends 2016 ranked season. Some of the rewards that will be featured are the Victorious Maokai skin, Summoner Icon and the shiny loading screen border with division markers. A player who does not own a Maokai can still be rewarded with the Maokai skin as long as the player is in the Gold+ tier. Ranked rewards are based on the player's end of season ranking and not peak ranking.

However, a player is disqualified for the rewards due to negative in-game behavior in the League of Legends 2016 Ranked Season.  Bans or chat restrictions will result in a player's ineligibility for the reward. Likewise, those who issued a ban of seven days or more starting August 7. A player who was banned for boosting during the League of Legends 2016 ranked season will also be prohibited to claim the rewards.

As any new season comes, new and big changes come in the game too. Those who did not reach their ranked goals in League of Legends 2016 Ranked Season will have the chance to push their way to Gold or higher in the 2017 season.

According to their website, Riot Games vows that it was a wrong move that they removed the Solo/Duo Queue in the League of Legends 2016 ranked season and so the game developer is bringing it back. If your team desires for a more serious, competitive game experience, the Duo Queue will be modified to Flex Queue which allows up to five players to queue up and compete.  Without a shadow of the doubt, the 2017 season is packed with new and exciting challenges to deal with.
