After the launch of the iPhone 7 which barely brought anything that Apple users have never seen before, fans are already anticipating what the tech giant might launch in the near future. While many think that Apple has always been uninventive and that it has always been playing safe, recent reports and rumors would say otherwise as it looks like Apple is in for a model that would be something completely new.

Tech Times that supplier leaks and patent filings by the company itself reveal that Apple could be experimenting with iPhone's core design and could completely overhaul it. In fact, an earlier patent which was filed by apple showed a concept of bendable phones which was very popular a decade ago.
If things turn out right, Apple might be launching its own version of the iPhone with a flexible screen that folds soon. Patently Apple reports that the company has been awarded the patent for a bendable of foldable phone, which makes use of carbon nanotube structures.
It was earlier reported that its rival Samsung that has been really obsessed with bendable or foldable smartphones and that it has filed a lot of patents that lead towards this direction for Apple smartphones, among others. Apple's first patent, which cover foldable smarphone form factors, was discovered in a European patent filing in 2013.
A second patent for a foldable smartphone was discovered in 2014. Just recently, the patent filed for the bendable or foldable smartphone by Apple has been awarded to it and it looks like such has been kept a confidential matter by Apple.
Apple iPhone Latest News: Bending & Folding Designs For Smartphone Patented
The patent that has been awarded to Apple is numbered 9,485,862 and is titled "electronic devices with carbon nanoube printed circuits" and as said earlier, it deals with its original technology when it comes to bending or folding designs.
The images in the report show what appears to be the device that is in clamshell form like those used in earlier flip phones but more similar with the dimensions of the 3DS. It is also reported that Apple's one of a kind technology that features conductive carbon nanotube paths will allow the device to bend or fold numerous times while making it crack resistant.
