'The Flash' Season 3 Episode 5 Recap & Spoilers: 'Monsters' Reveals New Harrison Wells & Earth-1 Killer Frost

The CW's "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 5 titled, "Monster" starts fans off with the knowledge that Barry Allen has now moved out of Detective Joe West's house, and is now temporarily living with Cisco Ramon in his apartment. This is the first time that they show Cisco's habitat away from S.T.A.R. Labs.

The "new" Harrison Wells a.k.a "H.R." is fully introduced in "The Flash" season 3 episode 5. For the most part, he is shown to be much polite than the previous Wells, and tries his best to win the team over with his cooking and coffee choosing skills.

As far as revealing his true self goes, the episode only showed that he is not who he says he is. The previous episode of "The Flash" left fans with doubts about his intentions, and even with the team now knowing a bit of his background back on his Earth, Barry and the rest of the S.T.A.R. Labs team shows very little trust in his abilities or lack thereof.

The big baddie of the episode was not much of a threat, but more to serve the purpose of bringing certain things to light. According to EW, the "Monster" that the title alluded to is merely a hologram created by a kid that wants to feel powerful, due to being bullied in school. It is within the resolution of this that H.R. was revealed to have no technical knowledge that can help the team. As Cisco stated, he's a fake.

However, "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 5 finally showed much more character development in Tom Felton's character, Julian Dorn. Barry finally decided to live with the changes from "Flashpoint," and one of those changes means the addition of Julian in his everyday life. Throughout the episode, Julian slowly changes from someone who despises Barry, into a person that could look at him as a friend that he can open up to.

Caitlin Snow finally gets an episode that tackles her metahuman powers. Throughout Season 3 of "The Flash," Caitlin displays her freezing skills in short scenes, but this would be the first time that it was a major part of the story arc. In a report by ComingSoon, this would also be the first time that fans are introduced to her mother, Dr. Tannhauser, portrayed by "Teen Wolf" actress Susan Walters. Their scenes reveal the tense relationsip she has with her mother, along with small details about the death of her father.

She reveals her powers to her mother, with the intent of seeking help to removing it. Throughout the process, she shows signs of aggression, and her powers are getting stronger. The Caitlin shown on the latest episode of "The Flash" bears great similarity to the Earth-2's Killer Frost now. Could Caitlin be the real "monster" that the title alludes to?
