Johnny Depp is set to appear in J.K. Rowling's "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." He is reported to play a cameo in the first installment and will portray a bigger role alongside Eddie Redmayne in the following sequels.
According to a report in The Guardian, Johnny Depp plays an important role in the sequels of the film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." The film's lead star is Eddie Redmayne and Depp will be a part of it together with Colin Farrell.
It already is confirmed by J.K. Rowling that "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is a total of five films. It is set 70 years before the Harry Potter storyline. The film focuses mainly on the adventures of Newt Scamander who is portrayed by Eddie Redmayne.
Deadline reports that Depp's role in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is not confirmed as of yet but he is seen in the first clip for the film. J.K. Rowling's spin-off film ,for the Harry Potter also explores about magic and the storyline is linked to the Harry Potter stories.
Once Depp ends his project on Kenneth Brannagh's 'Murder in the Orient Express' he will start with "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." His role for the film will come before his roles for the 'Labyrinth' and as a starring role for 'The Invisible Man.'
In a report from Variety, Director David Yates shares that "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is a totally different story from Harry Potter. Yates has directed the last four films for the Harry Potter and is now directing the spin-off.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" also stars Katherine Waterston and Alison Tudol. It also includes Jon Voight and Dan Fogler. These casts are confirmed to join the first installment; however they are not confirmed yet for the sequels.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is scheduled to air on November 18, 2016.
