Call of Duty comes out every Fall, usually around November. While the next one, most likely set in the Modern Warfare universe, has yet to be announced, Activision is starting to tease the announcement of the title.
Recently, Dan Amrich, Activision's community manager, took to Youtube to answer fan questions.
Amrich says Activision is supporting Black Ops 2, which, unsurprisingly, will have more DLC future. He also mentions that an announcement is expected right before or at this year's E3, which takes place in June.
Black Ops 2 was revealed in May and Modern Warfare 3 in late May. Amrich said that looking for information now is a “little bit ahead of the curve”. The arrival of new gaming hardware (like PS4 and Xbox 720) could also play a major role in the release of the game.
“If you’re looking for information on the future, it’s coming soon. It’s just not here yet. And it should be here no later than E3. Just be a little patient and I think you’ll hear some more information very soon,” he adds.
Activision confirmed in February that a new Call of Duty game will come out this year. The current Call of Duty game Black Ops 2 released last year in November for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
