The highly-anticipated "The Winds of Winter" is reportedly on its proofreading stage giving fans hope that the book will be released in 2017. Previously, there were rumors suggesting that the sixth title of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series will be delayed yet again. If indeed the manuscript is currently in the proofreading stage, then there're high chances the sixth title may be released before "Game of Thrones" season 7 returns to HBO.
'The Winds of Winter' Is Under Some Serious Proofreading
"The Winds of Winter" is reportedly under some serious proofreading, giving fans hope that the sixth book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series may hit the shelves early next year. Many reports suggest that "The Winds of Winter" is currently being proofread, per Australian Network News.
"The Winds of Winter" has been delayed several times already. Learning that the book may be released before the "Game of Thrones" hits the small screens this summer will definitely lift the anxiety most fans feel with the constant delay.

George R.R. Martin Writes Several Books At The Same Time?
This is in contrast to previous reports of GameNGuide saying that George R.R. Martin may have lost the manuscript thus delaying the release date. Aside from losing the manuscript, there are also speculations saying that a prequel to the "Game of Thrones" may have caused "The Winds of Winter" to get delayed until 2018.
During the Emmy Awards this year, George R.R. Martin teased the possibility of a prequel to the "Game of Thrones." He admitted that he's already done hundreds of pages. More so, other reports claim that George R.R. Martin will release "The Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring" at the same time, explaining the constant delay.
It should make sense if "The Winds of Winter" will be released in 2017 since "Game of Thrones" will be released next year. Earlier reports say that fans are planning to boycott the hit HBO series if the sixth title won't be released before the series airs.
