It has only been over a month since "Star Trek Online" hit the gaming industry. The developers never expected that the number of players will mark its reach to over one million players and that too in such short period of time.
"Star Trek Online" was launched in September with a hope to get the same response as received by the Star Trek series. However, the game seems to gather positive response beyond expectations. The news has been confirmed after Developer Cryptic Studios announced that the number of players for PS4 and Xbox One compatible game has reached 1.1 million.
Xbox Achievements mentioned that the developer along with Perfect World has released an infographic to reveal the statistics supporting the facts presented regarding the success of "Star Trek Online". According to the report, 59 percent of gamers play as Command Officer while 22 percent prefer being Engineers and 19 percent act as Science officers.
The "Star Trek Online" statistics also indicated that among the players, 68 percent chose to stay with Starfleet while 20 percent sided with Klingon with 12 percent taking up Romulan Star Empire as an alternative. The revelations were different for PS4 as well as Xbox One, though.
As far as "Star Trek Online" on PS4 is concerned, most of the ships used included Negh'Var Heavy Battlecruiser, the Tactical Excort and the Malem Light Warbird. On the other hand, Xbox One featured compatibility for Klingon player, which appeared to gravitate towards the Negh'Var, considering it as the ship of choice. The Federation loyalists group opts for the Eclipse intel cruiser.
"Star Trek Online" was originally launched in 2010 for PCs only, Gamespot stated. However, it is now one of the games that offer gamers with over 130 story missions with spectacular graphics and amazing actors, including Tim Russ, Jeri Ryan, Michael Dorn, etc.
"Star Trek Online" has shown a tremendous performance in only one month. It is expected that it will become one of the games with record-breaking figures as far as the number of players is concerned.
