Paul Walker's name has been almost synonymous to the "Fast and Furious" franchise. However, his untimely demise back 2013 left the release of "Fast and Furious 7" hanging. The production team made it work through technology, and they aim to bring him back for the "Fast & Furious 8."
Paul Walker and "Fast and Furious" 8
With Paul Walker's shocking death three years ago, the production of "Fast and Furious 7" was left in the balance. The movie was set for a 2015 release and per usual, Walker was portraying a pivotal role in the film. The production team found a remedy to this dilemma though through using imaging technology that seemed to resurrect Walker in all his glory. But, it did not stop "Fast & Furious 8" from happening.
Fast forward to 2016, "Fast & Furious 8" is already in development. The production team aims to once again bring Walker's character back into the mix. However, his best friend and co-star Vin Diesel had admittedly conflicted emotions about the stint.
Vin Diesel said that just talking about bringing Walker back is very profound. He actually even thought about discontinuing the movie series as he did not know the exact direction of the story without his best friend. However, "Fast & Furious 8" is definitely moving forward, and it is still up for debate if Walker would actually be in the movie. What is clear though is that there would be some form of tribute or call back to his character in the upcoming movie.
Cody and Caleb Walker
Paul Walker's brothers, Cody and Caleb, continued to work on "Fast and Furious 7" after the actor's demise. Their movements and actions were recorded and Paul's face was digitally superimposed in post-production. Vin Diesel said that this process helped all of them grieve and eventually move forward. Caleb also stated that he learned a lot more about his brother from his close friends and co-actors. Are they returning in "Fast & Furious 8" movie?
It is still under debate whether or not Cody and Caleb will be returning to work on "Fast &Furious 8." Meanwhile, the brothers have been continuing to work on Paul's passion project. Reach Out Worldwide is now helping the flood victims in Louisiana.
"Fast & Furious 8" will be showing in cinemas on April 12 next year. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "Fast & Furious 8" news and updates!
