While informing the masses of "Minecraft's" latest accomplishment, it seems Jens Bergensten, developer at Mojang, teased a potential new mob that could be on its way to the Overworld for PC.
"As promised, a subtle hint on the main 1.6 feature," he writes, providing a link to a picture of Sara Jessica Parker being brushed lovingly. Horses in "Minecraft?" I'm game.
The new mob's introduction could provide even more uses for some of the game's food items, such as apples, carrots, sugar, and so on. They might even help players in dealing some long deserved payback for those tricky mounted skeletons, or perhaps serve as an additional source of leather or food.
To date, Minecrafters can use saddles (found only in dungeons) to ride pigs, but once atop the swine, there's no means of controlling movement unless you have a carrot on a stick. Horses could remedy this.
It's all conjecture at this point, but any new mob addition to the world of "Minecraft" is a welcome one. We'll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
