Here’s a good way to brush up on all our history lessons about 1960s biker culture and rock and roll.
Deep Silver, developer of the "Dead Island" franchise, says that the company’s upcoming action-adventure title “Ride to Hell: Retribution” will release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this June. An open road awaits.
“Retribution” tells the story of Jake Conway, a lone rider and a trained soldier, who is out for revenge against a dangerous biker gang called, The Devil’s Hand. The game is set in the last years of the thunderous 1960’s, full of “Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘N Roll.”
“Jake will employ any means necessary to enact his vengeance: weaponizing his environment, using hand-to-hand combat..., and battling it out in high-speed shootouts on Jake's custom hog,” the official page says.
Other characters include Mack: Jake’s mentor and father figure, King Dick: affiliated to the Devil’s Hand, Triple 6: Jake’s biggest enemy, Greasy Steve: another rider and the world’s fastest tattoo remover, Anvil: Devil’s Hand’s toughest member, Colt: Wrangler of the Hand’s drug ring, and Meathook: a deadly assassin in Devil’s Hand.
Players will also get to be a part of Route 666 where they will “recruit and lead a gang of bikers from Chicago to Los Angeles, fighting for every mile of the road “using both brain and brawn.” It contains arcade combat and will be released digitally through PSN, XBLA and Steam in June.
This Deep Silver title has been in the works since 2008 and suffered numerous delays. The original date was 2009.
