First Look At Gameplay For 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution' On Wii U [TRAILER]

Another late to the party Wii U title is being teased by Square-Enix, and it's none other than the cyber-punk prequel "Deus Ex: Human Revolution." The developer is offering a trailer for the Director's Cut version, but it seems a bit more action heavy than the stealth styled gameplay the series is renowned for. Take a look below.

The trailer doesn't get into the specifics of the neural hub, or exactly how the Wii U's tablet controller comes into play, but the Square-Enix blog does.

As could've been expected, the gamepad will feature prominently into the game in a number of ways. Obviously hacking is now done through the pad, as is sniping, inventory management, looting, radar, but also new features as well. As the blog notes:

  • Grenade Throw-Back: Grenades near Jensen appear on the GamePad, the player can then swipe the grenade icon to throw the grenade back.
  • New Augmentation "Tactical Pattern-Recognition System": Display Jensen's view through the GamePad touch screen. Moving the GamePad around will move Jensen's view (the camera) in the same way, using the gyroscope. The NPC closest to Jensen's center point of view (reticle) will have an extra information panel appearing over his head, giving precious information like the items carried, total health, armor type and state (unconscious, dead, normal). Jensen can still move and shoot while the T.P-R.S is active.
  • Infologs: Information packages that can contain detailed screenshots, voice recordings, drawing and typed notes all together. Infologs can be toggled as a physical beacon in-game to be played automatically when standing on it. Infologs can be shared through the Miiverse to your friends, which let them view your content in-game, without breaking the immersion.
  • New Game +: Keep all of your augmentations through to your next game.
  • GamePad Mode: Ability to play on the GamePad (No TV needed).

Boss fights have also been re-worked, which was thought to have been one of the game's biggest flaws upon release. Also, the "Missing Link" DLC chapter now factors directly into the game's storyline, rather than as an extra chapter.

IGN reports that all of the extras and additions for the Nintendo console are exclusive, so the rest of us are stuck with our annoying boss fights. Looks like Wii U owners may finally have a leg up after all.

"Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut" is scheduled to release sometime this year.
