Following the successful release of LG V20 in the western market, the South Korean tech manufacturer is said to be focusing on its upcoming LG G6 smartphone. According to the latest reports, despite the success it had with LG G5, the company has decided not to continue its modular feature and go back to the standard smartphone design.
The LG G5, predecessor of LG G6, was launched early this year, and its interesting modular design has made it a huge hit in the tight smartphone market; however, it was nowhere near the success Samsung had with its Samsung Galaxy S7. Now, LG's plan is to make sure they can compete well against the current iPhone 7 and the upcoming Galaxy S8, which is expected to arrive early next year.
Apparently, several consumers were having some difficulties with the modular parts of the LG G5 such as the Hi-Fi Plus, Hi-Fi DAC and the LG Cam Plus. There are speculations suggesting that the company was also struggling to keep up with the supply of the device's accessories, which were also called "LG friends." Now that LG has decided to change the design of its flagship series, tech experts expect the new LG G6 to arrive carrying a 5.6-inch screen that supports 4K viewing.
The LG G6 will have a 4096x2160 high resolution display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for screen protection. It is also expected to arrive with 24 MP Dual LED 3D primary camera that features an auto focus technology and a 7 MP front-facing shooter.
Meanwhile, reports are circulating that the LG G6 will run on an Octa-core 3.0 GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm paired with 5 GB of RAM. Although LG has yet to provide the specifics of its development and release date, reports have emerged suggesting that the LG G6 will arrive in 2017 with a $750 USD price tag. Stay tuned for more news and updates about the upcoming LG G6.
