Evil things and darker characters are lurking in "Resident Evil's" new in-game world. The upcoming sequel to Capcom's classic horror video game will include gameplay features reminiscent of the gaming title's older versions but with a twist.
"Resident Evil 7 Biohazard" is the upcoming installment to one of the gaming industry's iconic game franchises. Avid players looking for adventure and a horror filled storyline to their games may soon experience these gameplay elements in Capcom's soon-to-be released gaming title.
Capcom has already unveiled several trailers that teased of the game's mysterious world, scary locations and menacing characters. Some of the teasers also gave players a quick look at the game's various challenges and puzzles such as the mysterious VHS tapes and eerie looking buildings.
In the said video clips, Capcom also previewed the upcoming game's first person perspective which represents a shift from earlier "Resident Evil" versions. Some gamers may have speculated that combat scenarios will also change given the game's new feature. However, game producer Masochika Kawata revealed that players will still encounter fight scenes with multiple enemies.
In an interview with Yugatech, Kawata commented that developers have incorporated one-on-one fight scenarios, as well as combat scenes where a player would need to defeat several opponents at a time. However, the game producer revealed that it will be unlike other "Resident Evil" versions where players are faced with 20 to 30 enemies.
"Resident Evil 7" will also focus on exploration, combat and survival, according to Kawata. It appears that game developers have added several in-game puzzles, item boxes and other exciting gameplay features to the upcoming game.
Meanwhile, game director Koshi Nakanishi revealed in an earlier interview with IGN that the said game will be different from typical zombie horror video games. Capcom developers have made changes to the game's storyline to introduce "a more personal and intimate scale of horror."
Nakanishi even mentioned that they only added a handful of villains to "Resident Evil 7." However, each antagonist will pose a different kind of threat to the player's character. "Resident Evil 7 Biohazard" is slated for release on Jan. 24, 2017 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Watch the game's trailer below:
