'Pokemon Go' Latest News & Update: Game Hits $600 Million Milestone in Record Time, Higher Than ‘Candy Crush’? More Game Details Revealed!

"Pokemon Go" has undoubtedly become one of the biggest, if not the biggest, mobile game currently out. However, what is really impressive is that the game has hit a record breaking revenue mark in just three months.

The Pokemon Go Hype

This summer, the world went crazy and usual couch dwellers went around town catching Pokemon. Even though it is not the usual handheld console game that everyone has been used to, "Pokemon Go" generated a lot of hype over its release. Additionally, the game delivered a unique and quality experience due to the novel augmented reality nature.

When Niantic Labs introduced the free-to-play game, many were immediately hooked. The international success then naturally translated into revenues. Although in-game purchases were not at all necessary elements inside the game, those who have been hooked to "Pokemon Go" wanted more for their buck.

With this, "Pokemon Go" has reeked in more money in just 90 days than any other mobile game during the same three months. What with lure parties conjuring up here and there at the peak of the game's hype, it does not really come as a surprise that Pokemon Go achieved its milestone.

Reaching a Milestone in 90 Days

Mobile market researcher App Annie had revealed that "Pokemon Go" had generated over $600 million in just the first 90 days since its release. This should still be taken with skepticism though, as Niantic Labs has not officially released a statement regarding their revenues. However, given the game's obvious success, it should not come as a surprise if the actual figures were higher.

In comparison to the "Pokemon Go" game, the legendary game "Candy Crush Saga" took over 200 days to reach the same revenue figure. Also, the widely popular "Clash of Clans" took it a lot longer in 500 days.

Additionally, App Annie had also claimed that in the third quarter of 2016, "Pokemon Go" was responsible for 45 percent of the entire time that players have spent on Android games. This is an impressive number, as the remaining 55 percent is shared by at least 19 popular Android games.
