'The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition' News & Updates: Here's How Much Space You'll Need For The Game!

All this time, the one problem console players had with the classic "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" is that you can't play it with mods like you can in the PC version. "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition" fixes all of that for console players after five years, but with a caveat, of course: mods will need extra memory space.

VG 24/7 reports that mod support brought about by "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition" is going to need a substantial amount of memory on the console just for all the new mods you're going to run. That is if you plan to run a lot of different mods -- and you should, because they make the game much more fun. The official Bethesda blog for the game announces that the PlayStation 4 needs an extra 1 GB, and the Xbox One will need to have free 5 GB just for this.

Players who are aiming to have "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition" will have to do some spring cleaning on their consoles' hard drive. A 250 GB hard drive alone is most likely not enough space, especially if you have a lot of games. If you have to, you might need to consider moving up to a 1 TB hard drive model.

Meanwhile, the main game -- without even the extra mod support -- is going to require 20 GB for North America and 33 GB for Europe on PlayStation 4. For Xbox One, it's 17 GB for North America and 25 GB for Europe. The reason why the European version of "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition" is so large is mostly due to the different languages required to play the game.

"The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition" is a remastered version of the original classic. PC players who have the original game and all its expansion DLCs will be able to get the remaster all for free on October 28.
