'NBA 2K17' Updates, Player Details and News: Charles Barkley Reveals Reason Why He is Not Part of Video Game

After its release last month, "NBA 2K17" continues to excite fans with its new offerings and the other possibilities it has made available for fans. A former NBA star has also revealed why he is not part of the basketball video game.

Perfect copy of NBA games

The latest iteration of the NBA 2K franchise makes a player feel like he is part of a real basketball match complete with courtside reporters and game analysts. Fans would even find it hard to find loopholes in the game because 2K Sports worked hard on improving the gameplay experience.

However, basketball fans noticed that former NBA player Charles Barkley was not part of the analysis team of the "NBA 2K17." Though he is part of the Dream Team from 1992, Barkley is the only "Inside the NBA" analyst missing from the game. Co-analysts Shaquille O'Neal, Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith were all included in the video game.

Failed to agree

In explaining his absence on the game, Barkley told sports reporter Howard Beck that he asked 2K Sports to give his cut from the game to players who have retired but the company apparently declined the request. Many wondered why the former basketball player did not just take the money and put it to the cause he is fighting for.

MyCareer mode and game highlights

Following its availability to the public last Sept. 20, "NBA 2K17" received nothing but good reviews from gaming enthusiasts and NBA 2K fans. What gamers loved about the newest installment is the MyCareer mode which follows a player's growth from a student to a professional baller.

Just recently, the game has added 36 college teams with almost 200 players which can be downloaded as part of "NBA 2K17." This could be the first basketball video game that the franchise will offer since it introduced NBA 2K.
