Reports have claimed that HTC is planning to launch an Ocean series of smartphones, namely, Ocean Smart, Ocean Note and Ocean Master. Techconfigurations has even created an HTC 11 concept video with respect to Contextual Touch Sensitive Frame technology and button-less design.
The HTC 11 smartphone is rumored to have a waterproof and button-less aluminum case with dual stereo speakers. It will likely have a 5.5-inch Quad HD Dual Edge Display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor and 6GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also expected to boast similar specs.
As per rumors, the HTC 11 will come with a dual 12MP and 8MP rear camera and 8MP wide-angle front camera. USB Type-C port could be used for faster data transfer and charging. One can check out the HTC 11 concept video here.
Recently, an HTC designer posted a video of a buttonless smartphone named Ocean that showed the handset to be having a touch-sensitive frame allowing users to interact with the smartphone without touching the screen. The video was made private soon after and the uploader claimed that it was only a concept. Could this be HTC 11?
However, reports have claimed that HTC is in fact designing an Ocean series. The HTC 11 handset is expected to be released early 2017. It will be competing directly with Samsung that will release the Galaxy S8 likely at the same time. However, after the recent Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, HTC could be having an edge in the competition.
According to rumors, the HTC 11 smartphone will launch with DualBand, WiFi and WiFi Hotspot, GPS with A - GPS, Direct, BDS, Beidou, GLONASS, Infrared, NFC, Bluetooth v4.3 and the reversible USB Type-C connector. The powerful handset will be able to run heavy-duty apps and features without hassle.
The handset is also expected to provide great gaming experience. However, all this is at the rumor stage. HTC has not released any official statement regarding the HTC 11 device.
