"Doctor Strange" is one of the most anticipated movies of the last two months of the year. Starring an ensemble cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelsen, Rachel McAdams and Chiwetel Ejiofor, "Doctor Strange" is being marketed as the first fantasy entry in the otherwise science fiction Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, Benedict Cumberbatch is said to nervous about the performance of "Doctor Strange" as it was one of the riskier entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, it looks like the "Sherlock" actor does not have anything to worry about.
According to Deadline, "Doctor Strange" will earn as much as $75 million on opening weekend, still with room to grow. That would put it on the lower end of the opening track record of the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but would still be impressive if "Doctor Strange" ultimately proves to have legs in the box office.
In other "Doctor Strange" news, the Nerdist reports that the movie will be taking place in the same universe as the Avengers. Even more interesting is the fact that "Doctor Strange" as a movie will be a parallel event to the Phase 1 and Phase 2 movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This will give him time to join in on the fun for the third "Avengers" movie in 2018.
You can watch "Doctor Strange" when it comes out in theaters on Friday, November 4. Whether there will be a "Doctor Strange" sequel will be known if the first box office weekend will turn out to be massive.
