Apple fans may be disappointed to hear that there are no leaks suggesting a 2016 release of the Apple iPad Mini 5. Numerous fans have been waiting patiently for the device to be announced but the Cupertino-based tech giant has not revealed anything on the same.
Some tech enthusiasts have claimed that as Apple is focusing on making the MacBook Pro 2016 available within this year, the iPad Mini 5 has taken a backseat for a while. Hence, it could be launched in March 2017, reported Macworld.
However, fresh reports are claiming that the Apple tablet may not come onto existence at all as of now because of iPhones gradually substituting the tablet in terms of functions and features. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus phones are in top demand. Therefore, the Apple iPad Mini 5 may not be in the works at all.
Even popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in his projected plans for Apple did not mention anything regarding the future of the 7.9-inch iPad Mini. He simply mentioned three new iPads for 2017 - 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2, 10.5-inch iPad Pro & low-cost 9.7-inch iPad, writes Macrumors. Despite Apple's silence on the iPad Mini 5, rumors haven't stopped circulating. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the tablet may be released along with the Apple iPad Pro 2 though there is no evidence to back this claim up.
If released, the Apple iPad Mini 5 is expected to have a 7.9-inch Retina display and 7000-series aluminum chassis for durability. It will be made thinner by 5mm compared to its predecessor. The iPad Mini 5 could be made available in 16/64/128GB Internal storage options and be powered by an A9 or A10 chipset. 2GB of RAM is also expected.
According to TechAdvisor, the 3D Touch feature could also be incorporated into the device just like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. A new stylus is also expected. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more iPad Mini 5 news and updates!
