'Pokémon GO' Latest News & Update: 'Pokemon: The First Movie' Invades 200 Cinemark Theaters in Dual Showing Scheds

20 years of existence - yes Pokemon is here for quite a long time now until "Pokemon GO" shattered all records and took the crown for being the biggest mobile game hit ever. There were ups and downs for The Pokemon Company but the game was its defining moment so this calls for a celebration through upcoming reissue of "Pokemon: The First Movie."

"Pokemon GO" completed the resurgence of Pokemon popularity and the company is now focusing towards big screen. Ironically, "Pokemon: The First Movie" is a huge contrast to established game played on tiny smartphone displays. The former suffered from slash among its followers but a movie version might provide an antidote.

The Pokemon Company is working with Cinemark to push for dual showing on Oct 29 and Nov 1 of "Pokemon: The First Movie." This $5-entrance-fee endeavor will be shown on 200 theaters all across United States. Wait, make no mistake about the ticket pricing because this "Pokemon GO" derivative is a full-length movie, Blasting News said.

To spoil a bit for those who doesn't know about this turn-of-the-decade movie, "Pokemon: The First Movie" plot will follow the adventures of trainer Nash and his loyal monster Picachu. They will encounter Pokemon Mewtwo who is creating an army of monster clones. The original 1999 movie was segmented into three parts, namely: "Picachu's Vacation," "The Origin of Mewtwo" and "Mewtwo Strikes Back." The latter is a 75-minute main feature while the other 2 run at 31 minutes combined.

"Pokemon: The First Movie" still remains popular among Pokemon fanatics and continuous in reaping $415 million since conception. Even way back then, it bagged $164 million on the opening weekend.

Now come to think of it, "Pokemon: The First Movie" is like hitting two birds with a stone for The Pokemon Company. "Pokemon GO" ignited the wick in July and catapulted the whole franchise into pedestal never before breached. It will never hurt capping the year with a movie, wouldn't it?
