Tech critics strongly believe that Apple will launch the MacBook Air 2016 together with the MacBook Pro 2016. But, there are also rumors that Apple might put an end to the "Air" line and focus on the "Pro" instead.
Some also say that it is better for Apple to just stick with just two kinds of laptops: the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro as both are considered successful in the tech market. Most fans know that MacBook Air and MacBook Pro differ in their screen quality as the latter have greater displays compared to the former. So, is MacBook Air 2016 still coming?
Apple will be hosting an event this upcoming October 27, as previously stated in a GamenGuide report. Fans are expecting that Apple's latest devices, especially the MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016, will be launched on the said date. Apple usually schedules its big events during this month so that its latest products will be available worldwide during holiday season and consumers can easily avail it.
According to a report from TechRadar, the MacBook Air 2016 will be thinner and lighter compared to its previous models. It might not have the rumored Intel's Kaby Lake Processor, but it will have the Skylake Processor instead. The laptop's batteries and cooling system will also be improved to support its new features.
If the MacBook Air 2016 will sport the Intel's Skylake Processor, it will be 10-20 percent faster compared to its predecessors. It will also have a 34 percent faster graphics that will last for more than an hour longer than a Broadwell processor. Some reports also say that the upcoming MacBook Air 2016 will sport an Apple Pencil with a support of Apple's Magic Trackpad.
The MacBook Air already had a minor update this 2016, but it was disappointing because it was just an optional RAM upgrade for the standard package for its 13-inch model. According to a report from MacWorld, if fans really want to see a proper upgrade for the MacBook Air lineup we should wait until 2017.
