Forget about sighting, much more catching monsters on board any vehicle because of new "Pokemon GO" feature that stops spawning when hunting over acceptable speed.
The controversial feature turns off auto sightings whenever driving and no monster spawns. There is no statement yet from Niantic if this update is actually a feature or bug. Either way, "Pokemon GO" trainers were also divided in this issue.
There are trainers believing that Niantic pushed for this "Pokemon GO" feature to prevent unsafe gameplay. Think of repercussions that constantly looking at devices while driving. On the contrary, others are presenting arguments that there are several safe instances like those who are hunting in pack and riding at the backseat only. There are trainers who also spend money in Uber just to track and hunt monsters, Forbes said.
Another potential concern is a confirmed GPS glitch which can confuse "Pokemon GO" server and think that the trainer is on board a speeding car. Even if the trainer is walking on such occasions, sightings and spawning of monsters are also affected. Of course, this doesn't cover real hacks enumerated in PokemonGoForAll.
Meanwhile, those who are hoping that this "Pokemon GO" occurrence is just a bug which Niantic intends to fix soon. As such, there is a possibility that next update might address it. After all, "no sightings and spawning feature" is not included in recent update description.
Now here is an interesting scenario from several "Pokemon GO" trainers who anticipate the upcoming winter. Niantic may want to retain "walking only" gameplay but it will no longer be possible on some cases. During the freezing cold, trainers' only option is to use their vehicles in hunting monsters. Of course, this can be blamed after Niantic only if this feature was intentional.
Lest we forget, Niantic already killed "Pokemon GO" tracking tools. Meaning, no third party monster tracker can be used in hunting. The drawback after the developer's action is that no replacement was offered.
