According to Macworld, a patent has been granted that will allow the Apple Pencil to work with Mac trackpads. The Apple Pencil will be made more sophisticated than the one available. It may be used as a general input device like an Air Mouse or joystick. The technology may make its way to the Apple MacBook Air 2017.
A recent report from Taiwanese website DigiTimes has confirmed the long running theory that the Apple MacBook Air 2017 will feature the USB-C port. However, there is no way to verify whether this report is 100 percent accurate or not.

Many are of the opinion that Apple is losing interest in the MacBook Air line. The 11-inch MacBook Air may soon be retired and the 13-inch model may follow soon afterwards.
