‘Pokemon GO’ Latest News & Update: Generation 2 Pokemon & Other Changes Players Want to See

"Pokemon GO" is still an immensely popular albeit with a bit of a reduced fan base. Recently, the game received fresh updates adding catch bonuses and restructured gym system. The patches are pretty amazing and have mostly been praised by players.

However, what players are eagerly waiting for is the massive update that will introduce players to "Pokemon GO" Generation 2. As Business Insider puts it, Generation 2 will represent a new ecosystem of Pokemon where creatures will reportedly comprise of Johto region's monsters as in "Pokemon Gold and Silver."

However, even new additions cannot make all "Pokemon GO" players happy as it won't end the monotony of collecting new species. Players want to do something with the Pokemon they catch. Joh Hanke, Niantic CEO, has already confirmed new Pokemon, writes The Verge.

As per NEUROGADGET, upcoming updates in 2016 and early 2017 will introduce some game-changing features and among them would be "Pokemon GO" trainer battles and trading system. These upcoming updates will change the very nature of the game and transform it to something similar to Pokémon Game Boy and DS titles.

Breeding and baby eggs may also be introduced and the eggs may hatch into pre-evolution Pokemon. Trainers will have more Pokemon as starter options once the new batch arrives. It may include Totodile, Cyndaquil and Chikorita as in "Pokemon Gold and Silver."

"Pokemon GO" players are reportedly contemplating that certain Pokemon would be region-locked, which means they would be available only in certain parts of the world. For example, Heracross could be limited only to Asia and Miltank to North America.

"Pokemon GO" trainer battles may soon be made available. Players are already anticipating certain changes from Niantic as it is currently working on certain features and also a better tracking system.
